BENODET. (29) One of the more famous visitors to Benodet was the French poet Guillaume Apollinaire who was wounded in The Great War and who came here to recover from a head wound in 1917. He was charmed by this delightful little town and made various references to Benodet in his poetry and personal letters all of which extole the virtues of this small port.
Today Benodet is a very popular tourist resort
and receives a huge influx of visitors each summer. However in spite
of this it retains a great deal of charm and the town and the verdant
countryside around offer the visitor a wide range of activities. |
